In this course, students build upon previous knowledge and examine the concepts related to complex and critical care delivery. Topics include advanced care delivery collaboration and partnerships, disaster management, and additional selected topics such as resource management. It provides opportunities for students to plan and deliver safe, complex medical, surgical, urgent, and critical care to patients. Students practice in various areas such as critical care, emergency, intensive care, cardiac care, or similar areas. In this course, students will learn Intensive care, also called critical care, which is a medical specialty that deals with seriously or critically ill patients. Students will assess and recognize patients at risk of, or are recovering from, conditions that may be life - threatening. includes providing life support, invasive monitoring techniques, resuscitation, and end -of-life care. Students will identify the importance of intensive care, which relies on multidisciplinary teams composed of many health professionals. Such teams often include doctors, nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists. They usually work together in intensive care units (ICUs). Students will get to work with a multidisciplinary team to understand the care of a critically ill patient.
