Catalog description

This course focuses on providing nursing care to the child -bearing family and women’s health. It teaches reproductive, maternal -child, and newborn health, including fetal development, prenatal and postnatal care of the mother and baby, reproductive health, women’s health, and health promotion. Biopsychosocial, pharmaceutical, legal, ethical, cultural, and educational considerations related to pregnancy, birth, and newborns are included. The clinical portion provides opportunities for the student to deliver related nursing care in medical facilities, clinics, and provider offices. This course runs for eight weeks. In this course, students will learn to Integrate the management of common issues in women’s health care delivery and knowledge. Evaluate patients’ overall health status from a multidisciplinary point of view based on sex and gender differences. Learn skills in assessing pregnant women, diagnostic tests related to pregnancy, prenatal care, and assess newborns. Reviewing and translating shared patients’ co -morbidities effectively with other providers on the care team, including aging women, menopause, and health screenings for health promotion. The clinics are conducted for eight weeks.
