The YMCA Past, Present, and Future

Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce students to the history, heritage, and evolution of the YMCA Movement. In this course students will examine philosophies and societal trends that have influenced physical activity and services of the YMCA through a spirit, mind, and body lens. This course will explore the relationship between the past, present and future in regards to the meaning and purpose of one of the oldest non-profit organizations and its influence on health and wellness. Furthermore, this course exposes you to careers and volunteer service pathways within the Y.
