Catalog description

This course is designed to be a culmination of the Wellness and Physical Literacy course sequence. Students select this course based on their Wellness and Physical Literacy Plan and strive to go in depth in the world of adapted aquatics and the importance of lifelong wellness and physical activity. Students participate in social emotional learning activities and aquatics skill development, and lead adapted aquatics programming for persons with disabilities for a 10-12-hour service experience. Students gain valuable knowledge of a range of aquatic skills and activities. Students work with the instructor to bring their knowledge and love for lifetime wellness and physical activity to persons with disabilities focusing on social emotional learning, active engagement, and health promotion.
