Advanced Standing Summer Seminar

Catalog description

This course occurs during the Advanced Standing student’s first semester, serves as part of the orientation to Springfield College’s MSW course of study, and bridges bachelor’s-level practicum and master’s-level training and learning to support the transition to specialization-level practice. Advanced Standing MSW students will be prepared to engage in agency-based practicums emphasizing direct service in organizations and work with diverse clients and groups with various presenting issues requiring complex multi-level intervention and advocacy. The administration experience requires an active contribution to the practicum agency’s ongoing management and service-delivery activities.
