Through this experience, students participate in civic engagement and are exposed to community organizations and agencies in order to prepare them for their senior year field practicum. Students develop an understanding of the placement process and the importance of integrating classroom learning with practical experience. Students acclimate to the social work profession, ethical guidelines, and internship expectations. Students begin develop skills in critical thinking, self-evaluation, communication, and understanding requirements of working within a professional community organization.
