Catalog description

This seminar is the culminating and synthesizing experience of the master’s program in Student Affairs Administration. Through case analyses the seminar provides an opportunity for students to bring together what they have learned both in the classroom and out of the classroom in assistantships, internships, and field experience. There is a focus on preparing students for an effective job search and preparing them for their transitions to professional positions within student affairs. They will also produce a Statement of Professional Philosophy, a Statement of Professional Practice, and both an online and physical Portfolio. Acknowledgment The information contained in these documents was developed, in part, through the publicly shared syllabi of student affairs and higher education graduate programs at a number of institutions, including Rutgers University, New York University, and Iowa State University.
