Occupation, Dysfunction, and Adaptation in Adults I

Catalog description

This is the first in a 5-course sequence that examines occupational function, dysfunction, and adaptation in adults. This course specifically addresses clinical pathology, theory, and practice related to the physical domain of human occupation. Techniques for occupational therapy evaluation and intervention emphasizing biomechanical, rehabilitative, and sensorimotor frames of reference, as related to the management of individuals with physical dysfunction, are introduced. The role of the occupational therapist for individuals with common orthopedic injuries and conditions is introduced.
