Organizational Development and Leadership in Education

Catalog description

The purpose of this course is to examine and apply organizational theories to the study of critical challenges in educational leadership. The Educational Leadership Program at Springfield College focuses on preparing leaders who are committed to fostering and facilitating organizational change to create a system of equity. This course examines five major organizational components (internal structures, human relations in organizations, organizational power and politics, organizational culture, and the external environment) and that when taken together provide a framework for understanding, initiating, and implementing systematic change in educational organizations.
