Catalog description

This is an introductory course that studies the intersections of media, culture and society. The course explores historical and contemporary frames in the field of media and communications and the ways in which intersectionalities such as race, gender, sexuality, class, politics, to name a few, are explored through reading, learning, discussion and analysis. The evolution of media and communication over the years and its impact on culture and society will be studied. The fields of interpersonal, intercultural and international media and communication studies navigate and analyze the global and cutting-edge theories and praxis in the field of media and communications.
