Catalog description

Multimedia Writing is a skills-based immersion into media, communications and journalism. Students learn the foundations of multimedia writing for varied audiences across multiple formats, genre and mediums. The course is meant to be an introductory exploration across various genre of multimedia writing: television, short narrative film and social media. Students work collaboratively in order to examine the process of writing across different mediums. In order to accomplish this, students do a lot of reading, writing, and talking about how writing for media, communication and journalism work. This class considers writing as a process and a social activity. It is designed to implement the process where students learn to write by writing and giving/getting feedback in a supportive, participatory setting.
