Basis of Disease

Catalog description

Understanding the basis of disease is critical for developing effective treatments. This course explores the genetic, biochemical, and molecular aspects that contribute to the development, progression, and treatment of disease. Experimental methodology is emphasized to support the ongoing and evolving understanding that we have of these diseases and how we can use that knowledge to develop novel and effective treatments for these diseases. This course has an optional lab component: BIOL 332 - Basis of Disease Laboratory .
