General Microbiology Laboratory

Catalog description

This one credit hour laboratory course is designed to accompany the lecture course General Microbiology. Laboratory safety and various basic techniques for the isolation, cultivation, visualization, identification, and quantitation of microorganisms will be introduced. Students will utilize these learned techniques to participate in the Tiny Earth program where they isolate and characterize an unknown bacterium from collected soil samples.
