In this course we will dive into the fascinating and often weird world of microbes. Microbes, tiny organisms, such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, algae, and protozoa shape our everyday life in numerous ways, from helping us digest food to causing illness. In this course you will learn about the fundamental principles of microbial life including how microbes thrive, survive, and sometimes cause chaos! Students will be asked to read and analyze scientific literature about the microbiome.
