1 section
Catalog description
This course is a deeper survey of molecular and cellular biology topics. Students consider the central dogma of biology through a functional lens, understand how the cell uses DNA to make protein and understand protein function. More specifically, students learn about transcription, translation, post-translational modifications and trafficking. Students consider how these processes affect energy generation, the structure and function of individual cells, and the hierarchical nature of biology. Students are exposed to established aspects as well as current applications of molecular and cellular biology.
