Application of Crafts & Mixed Media in Art Therapy/Counseling

Catalog description

This course uses a variety of crafts and mixed-media processes to explore the applications of a studio arts approach to this profession. Students investigate, understand, and expand their own art-making repertoires, and explore ways of adapting various crafts and art techniques that directly relate to client needs. This class focuses on therapeutic applications that include Positive Art Therapy, CBT and DBT based art therapy as part of a therapeutic practice.
