Catalog description

This course introduces undergraduate students to a range of methods, materials, and concepts employed by art therapists. There are opportunities for students to explore the application of media properties to understand connections made between the healing, art-making processes, emotional expression, and aesthetic presentation of works. This methods course provides students with a range of creative thinking as to how art materials are introduced and incorporated into various art-making practices. Students are presented concepts of critical thinking, arts-based research development, and how these to inform practice.
