Catalog description

This is asurvey course that is designed to introduce students to contemporary theories regarding interpretation and the world of work of interpreters. Students will become familiar with the specialized jargon used within the field of interpretation to describe various aspects of the work and the protocol that influences interpretation work in different settings. Ethical standards associated with interpretation will be introduced and applied to avariety of work situations. (Fall only)
