Catalog description

This course is designed to utilize the nursing process in providing care for patients with selected common nursing problems. It introduces the student to the fundamental processes of child and adult illness with an emphasis on the human Basic Needs of sexuality, comfort, rest and sleep, self-awareness and self-esteem, love and belonging, and safety. Learning situations are provided in the classroom setting, skills laboratory, simulation sessions, and in the patient care setting. Clinical experience is primarily in the hospital setting.
