Catalog description
Asurvey of mass media and their effect on American society and in aglobal environment. The course will explore the major forms of the mass media, including the internet and social media, newspapers, magazines, radio, television, film, advertising, and public relations. Emphasis will be placed on the nature of mass communication industries and the historical development and major functions, responsibilities, elements, and theories of mass communication.
