Calculus for Business & Social Sciences

Catalog description

This course introduces the concepts of differential and integral calculus with applications to problems in business and social science. Topics included are limits, derivatives, continuity, integration techniques, logarithmic and exponential functions, and partial derivatives. Computer and/or calculator aided instruction will be used throughout the course; use of agraphing calculator, as recommended by the instructor, is required. The course is designed for transfer students in business and social science; it is not for engineering, mathematics, or physical science majors.
