Catalog description

This course covers topics in mathematics with current applications in business and social science. Topics included are mathematical modeling, solving systems of linear equations, matrices and matrix algebra, linear programming, the simplex method, mathematics of finance, sets and counting, probability and Markov chains. Use of agraphing calculator, as recommended by the instructor, is required for this course. This course is not designed for engineering, mathematics or physical science majors but for transfer students in business and social science.
