Catalog description

This course focuses on mathematical reasoning and the solving of real-life problems by looking at afew topics in depth. Three or four topics will be chosen from the following by the instructor for in-depth study: set theory and logic, geometry, counting methods and probability, statistics, graph theory, consumer mathematics, and voting and apportionment. Use of ascientific calculator, as recommended by the instructor, is required for this course. This is aterminal course in mathematics for Associate in Arts majors and is not aprerequisite for any other mathematics course.
