Catalog description

Asurvey of the history of the world’sreligions with an emphasis upon each faith’sorigins, important leaders, mythology and doctrine, organizational development, and influence upon society. Primal religions, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, Confucianism, Taoism, Shinto, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are among the religions examined. The approach of the course is open and unbiased, promoting the intellectual study of religion. Completion of this course fulfills the Non-Western Culture requirement for graduation from Southwestern.
