This is the first of three courses designed to prepare afirefighter trainee to become acertified firefighter according to standards set by the National Fire Protection Association. It includes instruction in fire service history and organization, fire fighter safety, fire behavior, personal protective equipment, portable fire extinguishers, water supply, fire hose, fire streams, and ladders.
