Physical Geology

Catalog description

Examine what materials comprise the Earth, what processes shape the Earth and will understand how geologists study the Earth. Specific topics include Earth’sinterior, plate tectonics, earthquakes, details of the rock cycle and geologic time. Lab activities stress but aren’tlimited to rock and mineral identification as well as topographic map use. Students will also use scientific methods to study the Earth. ES 101 is not aprerequisite for this course.
