Critical Reading and Writing

Catalog description

ENG 99 is designed to strengthen reading comprehension and deepen students’ confidence in engaging with textual analysis through writing. Students will learn reading and writing strategies to succeed in college courses and to promote lifelong learning. Because reading and writing are interdependent, students will read texts as inspiration for writing. This class introduces practice at all stages of the writing process - invention, drafting, revising, and editing - sometimes working individually, sometimes collaboratively. Students will write various documents to be included in acommon assessment crafted for an audience consisting of English faculty.
