Catalog description

Designed to provide the student with knowledge and skill related to caring for children with special needs due to deviations in growth and developmental patterns. Methods of assessing needs and helping the child to meet these needs will be stressed. Study of applicable federal and state laws and requirements conducted including: Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Individualized Family Service Plan, Individual Education Programs, and inclusive programming. Fulfills requirements of School Code 25.25. Observations at select agencies will be required.
