Economic and Business Statistics

Catalog description

The following concepts and statistical techniques are included: measures of central tendency and variability; random variables and probability distributions; binomial, normal, and sampling distributions; estimation; tests of hypotheses; chi square tests; linear regression and correlation; and multiple regression. Statistical software projects are required. Use of agraphing calculator, as recommended by the instructor, is required for this course. At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to extract and interpret information from data and apply statistical tests to make and communicate informed decisions in business and related fields. Students may receive credit for only one of the following: MATH 107, MATH 191, or BUS 205.
