Advanced UAS Mission Integration and Leadership

Catalog description

In this course, students will explore advanced mission sets and practices across various equipment, with a specific emphasis on heavy-lift, electric vertical takeoff and landing (EVTOL) and other large-scale remotely piloted or autonomous systems. This course equips students with both the practical and leadership skills needed to plan, execute, and manage advanced unmanned aerial system (UAS) missions in diverse environments. Students will learn how to navigate airspace, conduct safety risk assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance while leading operational teams in a variation of missions set requirements. Through hands-on experience, students will gain proficiency in operating large UAS, which require additional authorizations from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The course will also cover emerging UAS technologies and best practices in team-based operations, ensuring students are prepared to lead missions with a strong focus on safety assurance, regulatory adherence, and client-focused outcomes.
