Catalog description

This course explores the structure and function of the U.S. Congress, with an emphasis on its legislative role in the fragmented system of government created by the Constitution and the Congress itself. Students spend most of the course engaged in simulations of the legislative process. As they assume the roles of real legislators, students discover for themselves how Congress really works, both in front of the cameras and behind the scenes.
