Catalog description
In this course, students will examine the evolution, modification, and refinement of death penalty policies within the United States justice system from legal, ethical, and jurisprudential perspectives. They will analyze the constitutional and historical foundations of capital punishment and apply legal processes used in capital cases, including trials, appeals, and post-conviction review. Students will also evaluate ethical considerations and global perspectives on the death penalty.
