Manufacturing Process Control

Catalog description
This course will broaden students’ knowledge of manufacturing processes and introduce them to statistical process control. Students will explore the diverse range of manufacturing processes and evaluate their application to the implementation of design features in various contexts. Through the lens of statistical process control, students will apply industry-standard tools and gain experience with process monitoring, data analysis, cause-and-effect identification, and how best to communicate the insights gathered with these tools. Students will begin to develop the skills necessary to diagnose and document the source of problems in a manufacturing process, and design and communicate process improvements.
