Catalog description

This course will provide students with an introduction to geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. In this course, students will interpret drawings and design specifications, learn how to use inspection tools, and assess whether inspected characteristics meet design specifications. Students will be introduced to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards. Students will evaluate designs based on design for manufacturing (DFM) principles. Students will gain hands-on experience with fabrication and inspection, and produce drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
