Applied Cybercrime Theories and Practice

Catalog description

In this course, students will examine cybercrime through criminological, behavioral, and psychological frameworks to understand offender behavior and threat tactics. They will apply incident response techniques to investigate breaches, coordinate threat assessments, and support interagency collaboration. With an emphasis on ethical reasoning and strategic planning, students will evaluate legal frameworks, cross-jurisdictional challenges, and emerging technologies to develop operational responses that protect public safety and digital integrity. Upon completion of this course, students will be prepared to develop forward-looking solutions to respond to emerging cyber threats and combat transnational cybercrime.
