Global Terrorism: Trends and Strategies

In this course, students will examine the evolving landscape of global terrorism in both national and international security contexts. Students will analyze the ideological, geopolitical, and socioeconomic factors that influence terrorist activities and counterterrorism responses. They will also assess the impact of terrorism on domestic and international policy, evaluate current counterterrorism strategies, and develop evidence-based responses to emerging threats. Emphasizing critical analysis and applied research, this course builds students’ capacity for ethical decision making and collaborative problem solving as a means of proposing innovative approaches to mitigate the impacts of global terrorism.
