Catalog description

This course provides an in-depth examination of the microorganisms responsible for human disease. In this course, students will study methods of disease identification, prevention, and treatment and describe how pathogenic microorganisms cause human disease. Students will apply laboratory skills to analyze tissue pathology, diagnostic results, and medical symptoms to identify microorganisms. This course will use a combination of lectures and laboratory work to help students develop an understanding of how microorganisms impact human health and how infections are detected, treated, and prevented.
