Symphony Orchestra II

Catalog description

This course is intended for orchestral conductors to develop a broad based knowledge of performance practices within orchestral literature from the Renaissance to the Present. In addition to course participation as an instrumentalist, students will participate in the teaching, rehearsing and conducting of specific pieces in order to develop rehearsal techniques relating to individual styles within the standard orchestral literature.
