Explores emerging technologies and their security implications through a lab-driven format centered on Capture the Flag (CTF) challenges and competitive simulations. Instruction emphasizes scenario-based exercises that involve identifying vulnerabilities, exploiting weaknesses, and implementing defensive strategies. Rotating topics include IoT forensics, AI-driven threats, drone and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) security, biometric spoofing, and blockchain attack surfaces. Research, simulation, and collaborative analysis are incorporated alongside hands-on CTF activities to reinforce technical concepts and investigative methodologies. The course framework supports early-stage evaluation of innovative tools and approaches that inform future curriculum development within the cybersecurity program.
