Constitutional Law II

Catalog description

This course is the second phase of the Constitutional Law curriculum. It provides an introductory study of due process and equal protection as general constitutional restrictions on all government actions that affect individuals. This course also introduces students to the structural role of the Supreme Court in enforcing those constitutional restrictions against other units of state and federal government. Issues include equal protection, substantive and procedural due process, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and freedom of assembly. Successful completion of Constitutional Law I is a prerequisite of this course.
