Catalog description
This course provides students with a basic understanding of the Criminal Justice System and interpretation and application of substantive criminal law, including punishment, classification of crimes, the elements of criminal liability, inchoate crimes, accomplice liability and defenses that affect criminal responsibility. The theory of criminal conduct is examined using the A.L.I.’s Model Penal Code, and the principles underlying the administration of criminal justice as embodied in the Model Penal Code.
