Catalog description
This course is intended for students who want to learn about the Linux operating system and prepare to pass the Linux+ certification exam from CompTIA (Pow- ered by LPI). It does not assume any prior knowledge of Linux and is geared toward those interested in systems administration as well as those who will use or develop programs for Linux systems. This course provides comprehensive coverage of topics related to Linux certification, including Linux distributions, instal- lation administration, X-Windows, networking, and security. CSCI 1199 Seminar 1–6 credits This course is designed to explore more advanced top- ics with students who are either interested in a par- ticular subject matter or are gearing the education to a specific area of computer science.
