Catalog description

This course is designed to integrate the theory of cardio-respiratory anatomy and physiology with assessment and care of the patient with cardio- respiratory disease. Topics include the respiratory system in adults, mechanics of ventilation, work of breathing, gas exchange and transport, functional anatomy of the heart and vascular system, ventilation-perfusion relationships and control of ventilation. A grade of "C" or better is required for passing. This course is offered during the fall semester.
