An introduction to the field of Native American Studies focusing on the histories, cultures, identities, and contemporary concerns of Indigenous peoples in North America, with a particular emphasis on the United States. Topics include colonialism, tribal sovereignty, historiography, popular representation, economic development, environmental justice, urbanization, ethnic identity, racialization, language, belief systems, and cultural diversity.
