Catalog description

This course is an introduction to the principles of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), component and consumable identification, including the safe setup of equipment and practice of welding stinger beads, weave beads, and overlapping beads in various positions using various electrodes. Students will also be provided practice in single and multi-pass fillet welds in the flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions using various electrodes. Pre-requisite(s): None Concurrency: WELD 1003 , WELD 1103 , WELD 1403 Co-requisite(s): None
