Catalog description

A beginning course for students with no knowledge of French language. Basic skills of listening, speaking, grammar, reading, and writing are utilized for the purpose of providing a foundation in the language and culture of the countries where French is spoken. The course is summarized as basic lexicon and structure of French; emphasis on the four basic skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) and culture of the French and Francophone world. Equivalent to CFRN 1013, 1014, Elementary French I, Louisiana Board of Regents Common Course Matrix. Pre-requisite(s): ACT score of 15 or above /equivalent Accuplacer SAT or C or better in ENGL 1010 Concurrency: Eligibility for ENGL 1010 Co-requisite(s): None
