English 2230 is a survey of African American literature from its 17th century roots to its contemporary forms. This course will expose students to diverse literary forms with a focus on social, historical, and political contexts. It will also consider visual and cultural representations of African Americans. Equivalent to CENL 2403 Introduction to African American Literature, Louisiana Board of Regents Statewide Common Course Matrix. Pre-requisite(s): C or Better in ENGL 1010 Concurrency: None Co-requisite(s): None
