Reading in the Content Areas

Catalog description

This course focuses on developing instructional strategies, grounded in the Science of Reading, that integrate literacy skills within the content areas of science and social studies. Students will explore and apply techniques to enhance reading, writing, speaking, and listening abilities in these subjects. Through research and practical application, students will prepare to implement these strategies in their future instructional opportunities, promoting literacy across content areas. Clinical experiences in the field required. Prerequisite: Admission to Teacher Education program.
