Today’s EMS leaders should have an intimate knowledge of the laws, rules, regulations and policies that form the framework in which prehospital EMS systems operate. From federal organizations such as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), state regulatory bodies such as the Department of Public Health/Office of EMS to local regulatory bodies, it is imperative that leaders have the knowledge and skills to make sound decisions. This course will provide the learner with abundant information and real-life examples to understand the regulatory requirements to manage an EMS system.
