Catalog description

A course integrating basic ideas from analytic geometry with the introductory concepts of differential and integral calculus. Topics include limits, continuity, slope, tangent, rate of change, optimization, derivatives, and integrals. The Fundamental Theorem of Calculus is studied in detail. Applications are drawn from physics, engineering, business, and economics. A thorough knowledge of algebraic and trigonometric identities is necessary for success in this course. Prerequisite: A grade of “C” or better in MATH 1113.
